Cake Pops Colours & Flavours

Cup Cakes have become a very popular alternative to traditionally baked cakes, but a trend is developing for cake on the go – the cake pop. What is a cake pop – essentially it is a bite sized portion of cake placed onto a lollipop stick. An extension of this trend is the push pop version, which allows layers cake and cream filling in different colours and flavours to be combined in push up cake pop containers that allow you to push the cake pop up the container without losing a crumb. An added bonus is the sprinkles or sweets that can be interspersed between the layers.

There is a good selection of cake pops colours and cake pops flavours to choose from, including the ever popular chocolate and vanilla, pink strawberry flavoured, green mint flavoured, cafe au lait flavoured with coffee or a yellow lemon flavoured butter cream. If you don't fancy different flavours you could colour vanilla butter cream which is naturally an off white, with any colour or colours you wish. The colours available include purple, red, orange, yellow, green, blue and pink; a veritable rainbow of colours.

The flavoured butter cream is then layered with one or more of a choice of brown chocolate cake, or vanilla sponge that can be coloured any colour you wish for your creation. The classic combination of chocolate cake with green mint flavoured butter cream, or vanilla cake with pink strawberry flavoured butter cream are always popular, or imagine a rainbow version with a different coloured vanilla butter cream layered between either chocolate or vanilla cake.
